Sometimes putting a mark or putting a note in our drawing is necessary, specially if you want to specify something, then highlighting it, in order to notice it easily. In my case, whenever this kind of scenarios arises, I always put an Underline and OverLine on my Text or Mtext, as a highlighter, making it easier to caught the readers of my drawing’s attention.
Hatch is an integral part of our drawing, without hatch pattern our drawing is somewhat dull in presentation. And without hatch our drawing will hardly be understood by the readers. Well of course if you are a Draftsman or an Architect, you should already know the importance of hatch in a drawing. After all, it is instilled in drawing standard which we studied when we still in college, studying Architecture or Drafting I supposed.
Dimension presentation is vital in a drawing, a drawing plans cannot be use if the dimension is not readable. Thats why it is important for us AutoCAD Drafters and Architects that we assure that, the dimensions are shown in a nice and in a readable way. But sometimes, in an unavoidable situation like rushing up yourself to finish your drawing and eventually making it to submission day. This is the time when your drawing presentation might suffer, specially the dimension presentation.
How to add a breakline symbol to a dimension line?, that’s the question. Sometimes in a AutoCAD Draftsman’s career, they will encounter such drawing that has an object that needs to be shown with breakline symbol in order to fit the drawing inside the drawing area. And ofcourse a drawing cannot be called as a working drawing if the drawing has no Annotations, Title, and specially if no Dimensions.
As I have discussed in my previous post, to be able to speed up the works of the Draftsman and Architects alike. One should know some techniques to do so. One technique that I already talk about was, tha using of command Quick Dimension. So now, two more commands that I know, will helps alot to make our works done, in a fastest way possible. These commands are the Select Similar and Quick Select command.
No Draftsman will ever want their drawing to be stale for days. Thats why it is important for us, that we should know any techniques that will able to helps us Drafters and Architects alike to speed up our drawings in a fastest way as possible.
I don’t know about the other advance users of AutoCAD if they using FIND command frequently, or if they ever use it at all. Because for me FIND command is one of the frequently used command in AutoCAD. Specially when the drawing I’m working with has a need to replace a series of text annotations.
There are several ways to calculate or obtain the area and perimeter of an object in AutoCAD. And one of these ways is by using the AREA command. You can find it under the Tools pulldown menu, then Inquiry. Or at the command prompt, type Area.
Sometimes, you want to modify your viewport in your drawing, you want to redefined it from a simple rectangular shape to any irregular shapes. Well you can always modify the boundary of your layout viewport, just by using the command VPCLIP. And you can find it at the Modify pulldown menu, under Clip, then viewport. Or just type VPCLIP at the command prompt.
Probably, the best newly added features of express tools on AutoCAD architecture 2008 is the SuperHatch. Many might not agree with me, but for me, this is one of the coolest if not, one of the best addition on AutoCAD so far.
